Martial Arts for Health, Self-Awareness and Self-Defense

I began my journey in martial arts  almost twenty years ago, beginning with a study of the traditional Okinawan art of Isshinryu karate  in 1993.  I added  the study of the arts of hsing i, ba gua and tai chi in 1998, combining the "yin" of Chinese internal arts to the "yang" of Okinawan external arts to find my own path to health, self-awareness and self-defense.  I believe both traditions have lessons to teach us and can yield new insights as we grow, if we keep our minds and hearts open.
